Their mission is to combat climate change and restore native forests by involving the community in planting activities. Founded in 2021, WaldLokal offers individuals, companies, schools, and clubs the opportunity to participate in creating a healthier, biodiverse forest environment. Through collaboration with regional forestry offices and local government bodies, they work to replace monocultures with climate-stable mixed forests, focusing on the specific ecological needs of each area.
WaldLokal has developed a strong community of supporters, known as 'WaldLokalians', who can track the progress of the trees and forest areas through a digital platform. This initiative not only addresses environmental restoration but also promotes local engagement and empowerment in environmental stewardship.
