At Carbon Checkmate, we have a clear vision: environmental awareness and transparency are at the centre of everything we do.

In Germany, opportunities for CO2 compensation are limited, a challenge that we see as an opportunity for innovation and commitment. According to the German government's 2009 Forest Report, changes in the carbon balance of forests in Germany are already taken into account in the national greenhouse gas balance. This means that even planting new trees does not contribute directly to CO2 compensation, as they are already included in the carbon footprint.

With this in mind, we at Carbon Checkmate have decided to take a two-pronged approach. On the one hand, after a detailed analysis of their CO2 emissions, we offer our customers the opportunity to reduce their ecological footprint by working with the renowned national non-profit organisation Aktion Baum. We emphasise that this is a contribution to sustainability and not compensation in the traditional sense.

For customers interested in international offset projects, we only offer those that are certified according to the BeZero standard and rated at least "BB". These projects are carefully selected and monitored by our trusted partner senken.io. At senken.io, we guarantee that only certified projects are supported and that replacement projects are provided free of charge in the event of unforeseeable events.

At Carbon Checkmate, we believe in the "local first" philosophy. And when it comes to international offsetting, we focus on the best available projects.
